"Ordinary Superstar" is the opening track from Rina Sawayama's debut mini-album Rina, which was released on 27 October 2017. The song was written by Sawayama with Clarence Clarity, who produced the whole mini-album.
Background
On a Guardian article, Rina explained the track is a commentary on millionaire YouTube vloggers whose brand is being "just like you".[1]
On Ordinary Superstar, a track from her self-titled mini-album, Rina Sawayama imagines what it is like to be a famous vlogger, “so far removed from who you really are”.

Music Video
A music video was released in June 5th, 2018 via the Youtube channel of i-D. It was directed by Can Evgi and Nicola Formichetti was the Fashion Director. The video is inspired on Tokyo’s glamorous 1980s club scene so adored by Rina and Nicola Formichetti mothers.
